FAQS

How do I Navigate this Site?

Hello & thank you for visiting my blog, the Writing for Food Diary! On this site, you can expect to find recipes for creative, cultural and affordable food!

In order to navigate this side, look on the right side of the home page and look at the section called "Labels" Click on the individual labels to look up recipes. Alternatively, type in the search bar the sorts of meals you want to look at. For example, type "Seafood" or "Dinner Recipes".

What is your Food Philosophy?

Do not, do not, listen to people that tell you that you have to spend hundreds a month to cook delicious meals, nor do you have to spend hundreds or thousands to eat organic. While I do not put labels on this blog (vegan, paleo, etc). I will occasionally make note about whether something is organic or happens to be vegan, etc. Additionally, I firmly believe you have to do what works for you! Food is a very personal thing, while being a very public and communal subject also. Frankly, moderation and knowing what works for you is my philosophy. Know your health concerns, or lack thereof and know your intolerances and things that will make for your optimal health.

It is important to note that the dishes on the Writing For Food Diary are always inclusive, Creative and Global! Food is not meant to be mundane. Let's have some fun!

Where did you learn to cook?:

I have been cooking since I was a pre-teen. I was taught by family, the women in my life as well as self-taught, Iron Chef and Food Network Taught and of course - YouTube Taught. I believe that cooking, the art of cooking is a continuous journey and one can never stop learning. I enjoy cooking dishes from all over the world, sometimes from my travels, countries or places I have lived and also purely from my appreciation and curiosity for a particular culture.

Who takes your blog photos?
I take all the photos myself!

Food Styling Notes:

The dishes on my blog will always be plated or "food styled" - to get your feet wet, start with white plates if you have them or use the ones you have and get under some good lighting! The key to food styling is great lighting and clean plates, lines and neat portions. Go ahead and do your best, then upload that pic to Instagram and make all your friends jealous!
